And so it begins…
Posted By Kalan on June 25, 2009
Well…likely against my better judgement, I’ve posted the first “chapter” of Bard. I was (hell still am) hesitant as I don’t feel quite “right” about it just yet. I think it has a lot of potential, but I think I need to slow it down, and not use so much exposition right from the start.
On the other hand, I think with this story the exposition is kind of needed in order to help immerse the reader into the world, and get them at least a little more familiar with the Mythos and Setting.
So have at it all – I hope you enjoy it, and please post comments on what you think, and how I can possibly improve it.
Thanks for listening!
The Bard – Chapter One
Posted By Kalan on June 25, 2009
So here I am. Saturday afternoon, and I have nothing better to do than stand here at the Valby train platform, waiting on the next train to Nørreport, lucky me. Ahh well, at least its summer here now, and there’s some nice scenery in the area, like the red-head in the short shorts who just walked by. Finding myself about to whisper into the air, the overhead speakers on the station announce that the next train will be delayed. Figures, I’m supposed to meet Johann in a few minutes. (more…)
An Introduction – and some explanations
Posted By Kalan on June 23, 2009
Welcome gentle readers. I figured the best way to start this whole Bard concept off would be with a bit of an explanation of what it is I intend, what it is you can expect, and all the other stuff that goes along with all that.
Well firstly – this is by no means, a finished product. One of the things I’m going to be using this as, is a springboard. So to start with, what will be posted here is raw, unedited, and possibly quite jumbled. I’m using this whole blog thing to help me hone my skills, and basically force myself into writing on a more regular basis.
What you can hopefully expect when all is said and done is more or less a sneak peek at what I hope to be the first draft of a novel. Whether or not this will get published – who knows. If I can get help editing it, I may just self publish…but we’ll burn that bridge when we get to it.
So enough of all that – keep watching this space. I think I’m nearing the end of the first chapter…or so I hope
